Gender identity services for young people are in flux, but nurses can still help those who are struggling
For some children and young people, gender identity issues can cause confusion and distress as they try to find their place among their peers and society. Strong views on gender identity, often expressed through social media and other platforms, may increase an individual’s sense of stigma, even shame, as they struggle to come to terms with feeling different, giving rise to gender dysphoria.
