Declines in the number of learning disability nursing courses and students mean new ways of attracting more people to the specialty are needed

For learning disability nurses, 2019 was a year of celebration as the sector marked its 100th anniversary. But it was also meant to be a watershed. With declining numbers of learning disability nurses working in the NHS and universities closing courses, it was hoped the centenary would kick-start a renewal.
