I am sure you have heard the sad story about retired nurse Patricia Dawson, who died in a hospital emergency department (ED). She had had a cardiac arrest but the nursing staff mistakenly followed DNACPR recommendations from another patient’s notes. The coroner ruled that Ms Dawson had died of neglect.
