Some students worry they will miss out on vital clinical training, but leadership skills are essential for nurses in every setting

Nursing students may question the potential for learning on a leadership placement, and wonder whether they would gain more from a placement focused solely on clinical skills. But nurses work in a vast array of settings, and any opportunity for students to see where they practise is welcome, says Bournemouth University’s senior university practice learning adviser Paula Shepherd.
