While on placement with a district nurse I visited a patient who was terminally ill. She had a malignant tumour in her lung and metastases in her brain causing pressure and intense headaches. She was on a syringe driver and analgesia for the episodes of intense pain so had regular visits from the nursing team for drug administration and general support.
