Updated guidance reflects progress in the care of people living with multiple sclerosis, including treatments and symptom recognition
The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) has updated its guideline for management of patients with multiple sclerosis (MS). It offers fresh recommendations for diagnosis, support, care coordination and symptom management, in line with advances. MS specialist nurse Nicola Daykin says: ‘There are now 18 treatments. When I started in 2008, there were three. There’s more choice for patients and clinical professionals so the guidelines need to reflect that.’
