Shift pattern changes: what are your rights?

What to do if your employer proposes changes that adversely affect your health, lifestyle or caring responsibilities outside of work

If your manager proposes changes to your shift pattern, the first thing to do is check your contract of employment and local policy, advises the RCN. According to its guidance, these may allow your employer to change your shift pattern if they follow the correct process.
