Unsocial hours payments are additions to basic pay, says NHS Employers. The standard full-time working week for NHS staff is 37.5 hours. Unsocial hours payments apply when working after 8pm and before 6am on weekdays, and from midnight to midnight on Saturdays, Sundays or public holidays. The system does not apply to overtime.
