Going for a job interview? Here’s how to overcome your nerves

Mandy Day-Calder Former nurse and health and social care author and consultant

Interviewing for a new role may prompt anxiety and feelings of imposter syndrome. Follow these tips to arrive prepared and interview well

Picture the scene. Your ideal nursing job is advertised; you do your research, submit your application and then the wait begins. During the following weeks your excitement escalates – you feel ready for this next step. Then you get an email inviting you for an interview. Suddenly your passion evaporates and instead your heart is racing – you feel sick with nerves, imposter syndrome kicks in and you cannot imagine what made you apply in the first place.
