Agency staff are a much-needed part of the NHS nurse workforce as employers struggle to recruit, yet it’s a career choice that carries stigma

The NHS is, quite simply, dependent on agency staff. While nursing vacancies have fallen, they remain in the tens of thousands, so a top-up resource of nurses able to fill continuing or short-term gaps is essential.
