Deliberate self harm in medium security

Raising awareness and knowledge surrounding deliberate self harm is an important issue in nursing. Sarah Beasley reports on her study findings

THERE IS a dearth of literature on the phenomenon of deliberate self-harm (DSH) in regional secure units (RSUs). This prompted a study to be undertaken to describe the incidents of DSH observed within a ninety-two-bedded RSU in the West Midlands.
