A percussion group has helped people with severe mental illness develop confidence as well as new skills, say its founders Murray Cathro and Adam Devine
Working with people who have severe mental illness is often challenging. The main difficulty is not always building therapeutic alliances or treatment programmes, but finding exciting activities that can help guide clients towards a healthier and better quality of life. This article describes how the authors set up a music group that their clients would feel comfortable attending.
