Ian Mansell and Victoria Jones urge learning disability nurses to keep themselves abreast of the latest raft of policy initiatives

It feels as if learning disability nursing has always been going through great changes. Thinking back to Briggs (DHSS 1972), Jay (DHSS 1979), Cullen (1991) and Sines (1993), it seems we have always been looking over our shoulder, waiting for another group or body to call our practice into question. This has had a number of consequences.
