An evaluation of five years’ work in Romania

Edward Alan Glasper Professor of Nursing, Director of Child Health Studies, University of Southampton

Alan Glasper assesses the involvement of the RCN Society of Paediatic Nursing in Romania and its role in the development of post-basic education for Romanian nurses

Romania, a former dictatorship of the old Soviet Block, has a population of 32 million and is situated on the Black Sea with Hungary, Serbia, Ukraine and Bulgaria as neighbours. Although the population is primarily Romanian, there are a number of minority ethnic groups, such as Hungarians, Ukranians, Czechs and gypsies.
