Starting out - I had to lie to a patient and it ruined our relationship

Jan had been admitted to the respiratory ward with shortness of breath and continuing cough. During my time on the ward, we built up a good relationship and she felt comfortable talking to me. I was asked to accompany her while she underwent a bronchoscopy to rule out any underlying problems.
