Music in A&E is a great idea, but be sure to choose it carefully

How refreshing to hear of different ways of attempting to reduce hostility in A&E departments (news April 7). Live music is an excellent idea. Not only can music of the right type soothe people’s nerves, but the fact that the musicians are visible acts as a distraction from watching the walls or the staff busying around - but not attending to you.
