Mary Ann Kelly Bank staff Nurse, Surrey

Mary Ann Kelly was prompted to use family trees to help people with dementia after reading a continuing professional development article

Having worked as a bank nurse in nursing homes for a few years, 1 found it refreshing to read an article (Armstrong 2001) written about an area of care that seems to have been neglected in these days of glamorous and exciting advances in medicine. Dementia affects up to a quarter of the over 85 age group - and, as often as not, the carers themselves are elderly.
