Management of urinary continence in older men
Lesley Simpson Clinical nurse specialist/community continence advisor, Swansea NHS Trust
Lesley simpson describes the methods available to manage urinary incontinence in men
The management of urinary incontinence in men of any age is dependant on thorough and accurate assessment. In men aged 75 and over this is even more important as symptoms are often complicated by the ageing process both generally and by specific changes within the bladder and lower urinary tract (Wagg and Malone-Lee 1998, Iqbal and Castleden 1997).
