For many people the word ‘cancer’ provokes a reaction: often one of fear or confusion. Most of us know someone who has had cancer and some of us will have known someone who has died from it. Helping people with a learning disability to recognise bodily changes, and be more aware of their own bodies, is imperative if we, as educators, are going to raise awareness and be supportive during the screening process.
