Male breast cancer: treatment and care

Although breast cancer is uncommon in men, it can cause significant morbidity and mortality. While treatment and management of female breast cancer has been widely researched, male breast cancer remains a relatively unknown entity. Thus, most of our current knowledge regarding the biology, natural history and treatment of male breast cancer has been extrapolated from female breast cancer. A greater emphasis on male breast cancer is needed to improve the outlook for this disease.
