With musculoskeletal injury rates so high, moving and handling patients requires skill and expertise, here are some tips on how to prevent injury and avoid pain

Over the span of a decade the NHS in England has paid more than £57million to end claims relating to injuries to staff and patients as a result of moving and handling. NHS Resolution, which handles negligence claims against NHS organisations, settled cases involving more than 2,000 staff and patients in the ten years to March 2019 related to manual handling injuries, most commonly to the back and arms.
