Aims and intended learning outcomes

The aim of this article is to update nurses’ knowledge on the variety of modern wound dressings available, and the practical application of these dressings to awkward wounds and those in areas that have been classed as difficult to dress. Although not ‘traditionally’ taught in nurse training, it is a skill that all nurses must somehow acquire if they are to deliver the best possible care to their patients.
