Diabetes care: prevention in practice

Against the backdrop of ever-increasing numbers of people with type 2 diabetes, this article highlights the urgent need to implement strategies targeted at prevention, especially in high-risk groups. Guidance in relation to prevention advice and management is discussed, as well as ongoing work in a general practice in south Manchester that is facilitating and delivering such advice with demonstrable outcomes.
