Jeff Fernandez describes a study into the work of an alcohol primary care team

In the past two years there has been a drive to increase the role of detoxification in substance misuse services, using a recovery-led model. There has also been a move towards increased community prescribed detoxification regimens, with primary care playing a leading role. This article evaluates the alcohol detoxification service being offered in Islington, London and discusses the lessons learned.
