Bob Price Director of postgraduate awards in advancing healthcare practice, Faculty of health and social care, the Open University, Milton Keynes
Government policy proposed by Lord Darzi (2009) and others has highlighted the importance of consultation with patients and carers. In this article suggestions are made about how such consultation can be demonstrated by children’s nurses. It outlines three techniques that nurses can use: patient stories, cafe scientifique and spotlight sessions.
