Transporting critically ill patients: new opportunities for nurses

This article examines the inter-hospital and intra-hospital transport of critically ill patients in relation to recent guidelines and recommendations for the safe transfer of patients. The impact of new legislation on existing practice and the implications for developing new nursing roles are also discussed.
