To use a wheelchair without the footrests is bad practice

Were you aware that the photo on the cover of Nursing Standard(March 29) shows bad nursing practice? To push a patient in a wheelchair without the footrests in place is unsafe and uncomfortable for the nurse and the patient. It appears that the front wheel of the wheelchair is about to run over the man’s foot and cause injury. While I appreciate this photo is posed, it does not look good on the cover of a magazine that promotes good care.
