The effects of pressure-reducing mattresses in CPR

In this article, the author summarises a small study examining the effects that support surface mattresses might have on perfusion in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

The abrupt cessation of cardiac function, cardiac arrest, is potentially reversible, resulting in improved survival rates as a consequence of the resuscitation procedures performed (Tunstall-Pedoe et al 1992).
