Reading a learning zone article helped Anna Wallace to update her knowledge of stoma care

As a staff nurse working on an acute ward, I often care for patients who have undergone colorectal surgery. Although stoma surgery is always performed to improve the patient’s situation, it is a life changing event, which can be physically and psychologically distressing. This article helped to enhance my knowledge and understanding of caring for patients with stomas.
