Revalidation

Linda Thorley Deputy nurse manager, Rock Cottage Care Home, Staffordshire

Reading a CPD article improved Linda Thorley’s understanding of how to fulfil the requirements of the NMC revalidation process

What was the nature of the CPD activity, practice-related feedback and/or event and/or experience in your practice?

The article discussed the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) revalidation process, which replaced the post-registration education and practice requirements in April 2016. It stated that nurses and midwives must undertake revalidation every three years to renew their NMC registration.

Nursing Standard. 31, 20, 64-65. doi: 10.7748/ns.31.20.64.s47

This reflective account is based on NS815 Myatt R (2015) Nursing and Midwifery Council revalidation. Nursing Standard. 30, 7, 52-59

These questions are the same as those on the NMC templates that UK nurses and midwives must use for revalidation
