Promoting hydration

A learning zone article helped Diane Taylor ensure patients achieve adequate daily fluid intake

As a third-year nursing student, I have completed many practice placements and have first-hand experience of why hydration is vital for patients. I have cared for older people with dementia or similar cognitive impairments, many of whom do not understand the importance of drinking regularly to maintain hydration.
