Preventing transfusion-associated graft-versus-host disease

Nurses have a key role in ensuring that patients receive the right blood at the right time. This article discusses the importance of giving irradiated blood components to certain patients. It explores how effective communication and documentation may help to prevent errors related to the administration of this blood component.
