At the time of writing this practice profile I was an RGN working in a nursing home providing palliative and continuing care for older people. When caring for and supporting patients with a terminal illness, there was a positive attitude among the healthcare professionals at the home towards ensuring that adequate pain relief and psychological support were offered to patients.
