Nurses frustrated by lack of time to provide good quality end of life care tell this year’s Nursing Standard-Marie Curie poll inadequate staffing and education remain barriers

When Jennie Clark’s husband Ken reached the end of life, he had a nurse by his side to support him and his family. ‘She helped to make Ken’s passing an almost beautiful thing,’ says Ms Clark. Her husband of almost 40 years received round-the-clock care in his final days, with district nurses visiting by day and Marie Curie nurses by night.
