Last month, the Department of Health and Social Care revealed details of its Interim NHS People Plan, the new workforce plan for the health service in England. But its promise to tackle mental health nurse shortages has been cast into doubt by a ‘lack of recommendations for additional financial support for mental health nursing students’ (page 6).
