With the aid of workshops, a drama group, presentations and discussions, women with learning disabilities gathered together for one day to learn more about their sexual health. Jacqui Brewster reports on an exhilarating event

Last September, the beautiful, old Bawtry Hall in Doncaster was filled for a day with over 100 women talking about their sexual health. It’s hard to imagine that the former RAF administration building and now a church education centre has hosted such frank and open discussions on such matters before.
