The right connexions?

Fran Gorman Public affairs, The foundation for people with learning disabilities

The government-backed service, Connexions, has the potential to support young disabled people in getting the adult life they want. Following an evaluation, Fran Gorman reports on whether the service is fulfilling that potential

Connexions, the government’s youth support and advice service, was launched in April 2001 in 15 areas of England. It aimed to give ‘the best start in life to all young people’. Personal advisers were available to give advice on a range of issues, including careers, education, drugs, health and relationships.
