The Mental Capacity Act framework is essential to ensuring good practice in the treatment of people in vulnerable circumstances. This case study illustrates the act in action in a multidisciplinary team setting. It demonstrates the balance between respecting fundamental rights to liberty and autonomy, and the need to protect people who lack the capacity to make certain decisions. The case study also shows how a health facilitation service works to achieve positive outcomes for clients.
