Analysis of interviews conducted by Mencap Liverpool suggest that hospital patients with learning disabilities on Merseyside continue to experience difficulties when accessing hospital care. This article presents a discussion of the interview structure used in the investigation and the themes generated by an analysis of the interview transcripts. The article concludes with a plea to hospital staff to heed the suggestions of this and other investigations when providing care to people with learning disabilitie.
