Research indicates that the recommendations of the Death by Indifference inquiry are going unheeded, say Mencap’s Adam Dinsmore and Laura Higgins

Analysis of interviews conducted by Mencap Liverpool suggest that hospital patients with learning disabilities on Merseyside continue to experience difficulties when accessing hospital care. This article presents a discussion of the interview structure used in the investigation and the themes generated by an analysis of the interview transcripts. The article concludes with a plea to hospital staff to heed the suggestions of this and other investigations when providing care to people with learning disabilitie.
