A study shows how the Supports Intensity Scale assists nurses in improving quality of life, say Sandra Swanton and colleagues
The Supports Intensity Scale, its background and a project designed to evaluate its use in planning support for people with intellectual disabilities and challenging behaviour are explained. The authors conclude that the scale can help nurses develop a support plan that will meet each client’s specific needs and preferences in a positive, fulfilling way.
