As with other specialties, poisoning follows seasonal trends. We have just seen the last cases of barbecue lighter-fluid ingestions and suntan lotion in the eyes, in time for the autumn berry and mushroom season, and luminous necklaces at Halloween. More seriously, autumn and winter bring increased incidences of carbon monoxide and antifreeze exposures.
