Skin cancer is ‘Cinderella’disease

A severe shortage of nurse specialists is contributing to the poor quality of skin cancer care in the UK. This is one of the conclusions reached by the All Party Parliamentary Group on Skin (APPGS) in a recent report. Overall, evidence gathered by the APPGS shows skin cancer to be the ‘Cinderella’ cancer in that healthcare workers and patients do not receive the investment or support that are provided for other cancers.
