Nurses can improve their knowledge of skin cancer

Liza Mitchell-Worsfold Skin cancer research and education specialist nurse, Barts Health NHS Trust and Queen Mary University of London, London South Bank University

Training and education will help nurses identify early signs of skin cancer and offer patients the appropriate advice

While giving classes on skin cancer to nursing students, nurses, healthcare support workers and allied healthcare professionals, it has become apparent to me that many of them are not aware of the most common types of skin cancer. They are also unaware of how skin cancer can develop or what to look out for on the skin.
