Opportumries to publish and present work abound in our profession, yet few nurses and midwives contribute to this area. This is probably because nurses lack the post-graduate academic support which would provide them with the necessary skills, guidance and confidence to succeed in writing up and/or presenting papers. At Yorkhill NHS Trust, Glasgow, a new initiative intends to change all this with the launch of The Yorkhill Nurses’ Abstracts and Papers Group. This article outlines the development of this group and what it hopes to achieve.
