Children at around 40 hospitals in Britain are benefiting from the services of an organisation called POD, which brings entertainment into the ward

LAUGHTER IS undoubtedly the best medicine, but for children in hospital it can be in short supply. However child friendly the service provided by professionals, children face separation from their usual routine and frequently have to undergo painful or distressing investigations and treatments. For parents, too, there is precious little to laugh about.
