Which century is Barry Napier nursing in, and what would you choose to reveal about your sexual identity if you had the misfortune to be in his care? He should take heed of Florence Nightingale – we should do the sick no harm. Homophobia makes people ill and the last thing a lesbian or gay patient needs is another dose of homophobia from those of us trusted to care for them.
