Plans to increase the number of medical student places will have funding implications for nurses in the NHS

A few weeks before the announced increase in nursing student places, the government finally published details about the much-heralded increase in the number of medical students. The total projected addition of 1,500 medical student places – a 25% increase in intake – has implications for nurses and nursing.
