Coronary artery stenosis due to atherosclerosis is the commonest indication for coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). Coronary stenosis or obstruction can cause angina pectoris, myocardial infarction or sudden death. The aim of CABG is to relieve angina, prevent myocardial infarction and prolong survival.
