Adherence to medication
Michelle Cowan Staff nurse, Stobhill Hospital, Glasgow
A learning zone article helped Michelle Cowan with medication administration
I work in a mental health assessment ward for older people. The ward has recently undertaken a self-administration of medication project to improve adherence on discharge. This project aimed to reduce patients’ reliance on staff and prevent skill loss while in hospital. The article reflected the work being undertaken in my ward and I wanted to improve my knowledge to help me work in partnership with patients to manage their treatment.
