In March 2003 the Department of Health (DH) invited the American Evercare organisation to work with nine primary care trusts (PCTs) across the country to contribute its expertise to improving the service that the NHS and its partners provide for older people. Evercare, affiliated to the UnitedHealth Group, provides similar services to public sector and non-profit organisations in the US.
